PIT OF GOBLIN enemies and counters
Most threats are easier to survive when you recognize the warning before the attack. This bestiary separates repeatable community observations from tactics that still need current-version testing.
How to read this bestiary
Friendly Foe officially confirms monsters, traps, knights, skeletons and ghosts, but it does not publish a complete stat sheet. The names and counters below come from Steam community guides, including one updated in October 2026. Treat them as field reports rather than developer specifications.
Fast and ambush threats
- Mouth / Mouther
- Reported to form from glowing particles and rush nearby goblins. Avoid approaching the trigger area without an exit.
- Little cyclops / Gorer
- Small one-eyed chaser that leaps or throws players; dodge the commitment and counter only when safe.
- Skeleton
- May appear as ordinary remains before attacking quickly; low durability is reported, but it can punish surprise.
- Bat
- Drops from above and attacks quickly; weak alone, disruptive when the team is already under pressure.
- Mimic
- Copies a player and may steal loot; unusual movement or silence is a warning in co-op.
Area denial and environmental enemies
- Fireflies
- Ignite goblins on contact; players report explosions as a counter, but avoidance is safer.
- Poisonous mushroom
- Releases a damaging gas cloud when approached. Give it space.
- Slime
- Drops from ceilings and absorbs items or goblins; community guides describe it as effectively unkillable.
- Mutant
- Rushes and explodes, potentially destroying carried items; throwing an object can trigger it at range.
- Rats
- Emerge in groups and can drag away nearby loot. Fight only when the team can protect its haul.
Heavy pursuers
- Armored skeleton
- Slow, durable and dangerous at close range; retreat is often cheaper than a long fight.
- Skeleton assassin
- Quiet ranged threat reported to throw bones and place traps. Break line of sight and keep moving.
- Knight
- Large, slow and extremely punishing if it grabs a goblin. Use space, cover and a planned route.
- Ghost
- Persistent supernatural threat associated with hallucinations; community guides repeatedly report the cross as protection.
A safer response order
- Identify the sound, particles or ceiling cue before choosing a fight.
- Protect the route back to the bucket.
- Drop greed: a lost treasure is cheaper than a lost run.
- Use thrown items or fire only when they will not endanger teammates or essential food.
- Report uncertain behavior to the team instead of presenting it as a solved mechanic.
Quick answers
Can every enemy be killed?+
No reliable source supports that claim. Community guides describe the slime and ghost as threats to avoid or manage rather than ordinary combat targets.
How do I identify a mimic?+
Players report that mimics copy a lobby member but behave strangely, fail to respond and may steal from the bucket.
What protects against the ghost?+
Multiple community guides report that carrying or using a cross can repel it temporarily. This is not an official stat and may change.
Are the enemy names official?+
Some are descriptive community names. The official store confirms broad enemy types, not a complete naming list.
